Chattacon, ch-ch-ch-chatta. what began AND ended as a "ive got nothing better to do" convention. Tony and i just got out of class around 8 and suprisingly for a friday night in atlanta, we didnt have any plans, so i figure why not drive up to chatta? Only an hour drive with loads eurobeat and bawls and we arrived. The area for the con was just a wreck. dirty alleys, sketch parking lots, but then there was the hotel. the ONLY place with lights in the downtown area. Thankfully the hotel included free gated parking. we got out and looked around. Hotel registration still had a good size line of people signing up. We were looking for the designated "party hotel" which was at the complete opposite end of this place. The hotel is also a historical train thing so it stretches way way too long. On the way we stopped by the "Gaming" room which was just tabletop. I asked about console gaming but there wasnt any at the time. When we arrived at Hotel 3 the place was locked but we got in and were greeted by D and 3 friends walking around. He had one guy doing beatbox while two girls followed. His party was on floor 5. Kive was here so we had someone to vouch for us other than "That Boozepack Guy", but he till was hesitant to let Tony in without his ID, especially since he looks 12. We got in anyway when we convinced them we were partially paying for the room. Since BoozePack was teamed up with ConHeaven we had to sign a media consent waiver. The setup was nice and very roomy since it was a suite. Plenty or ordevores to eat and a full bar. Blue Stuff was tucked away in the corner and thats where i went first. At that time there were only about 20 people here and nobody we knew so we walked around some more. There was two other parties going on downstairs. One we couldnt even get into without a badge, even though the IDs seemed fine, and the other was the Pirate Party. Pirate party had a cool setup, lots of fake seaweed everyone, skull & crossbones flags and other stuff. They were actually cool letting us in here without badges and hell, Tony without his ID, but that party was also pretty small so we wandered off some more. Met K downstairs who was heading with friends to some event which required badges but she let me know where Fershad planned to have his party which we went to later. It was good to see some familiar faces here! The watered down hunch punch wasnt all that so we grabbed a beer or two. The music was good and even though the room was small, everyone here was friendly. Tony also ot his good share of drinking on here. After seeing some enormous lesbian clevage we went back to the main party. It was really picking up now and people were doing Liquid Crack shots. I tried some of Leslie's homemade beer which was really good. Tony talked to a fellow StarGate fan and we saw a dog wearing a con badge. When we got into our room Tony was mad sick but i went right off to sleep beside the bed with a sheet and my sweater. Waking up the next morning i paid for the room, grabbed Tonys Puma sweater from the party next door (after kicking the door for a solid 5 mins), we headed back. That was it for Chatta. Didn't expect less, but for it being in its 32nd year running, expected a bit more.
