When i arrived on friday it had turned out Ashitas bus was majorly delayed so Jenny and Leo had still yet to fully pack up everything. we went to drop off Fuu and got everything ready. less than an hour later, we were off. The tripto Raligh began and ended with one game: the Sims. no more than an hour into the trip Ashita installed The Sims Livin' Large into his laptop and from there on we just played the entire time. We made a house on the game with Leo, Jenny, Ashita, Me and even a character we called "costumes". of course we used the cheat code to start with tons of money so we built this giant house with lots of little extras. unfortunately because of random explaosions and evil genies we had burned nearly the entire house down and all of the occupants by Day2 on it. even after we arrived at the hotel we still had the game going, only now to see who would last longest in a room without doors. =D

We got a traffic ticket on the way there. funny enough right after we were pulled over Leo noticed "Hey guys, we're halfway there". so in all it wasn't that bad really. hotel wasnt the con hotel, but the one next to it. and it was niiiiice! TWO tvs andfor such a cheap price. this place even had a jacuzzi! we all loaded up the room with junk and unpacked.

that night i was much too exited to sleep. i know perhaps getting some sleep would have been a good idea to start the weekend off wide awake in the morning but i was just too exited to sleep Friday night off. Ashita and i headed off to the convention next door and instantly found Dogbert and Anna. David had brought his KaBoombox and was playing Clerks on his laptop. we talked about how the con was going thus far and what we missed (not much). after wandering around some more we bumped in to Gabby, who was in her pajamas at the time. this was truely a great get-together of con insomniacs! ^_^

While we were drawing pictures and planning ideas for the weekend, someone had come up and covered my eyes. Uhm...who could this be, was it Anna? I turn around to see Christina (C-chan) had made it! yay! she was almost unable because of confusion and lack of a ride there but it was good to see her again bright in spirits and wide awake like the rest of us (well not wide awake, but talkative and hungry ^_^;). The people she was rooming with were the really loud sleeper-types so she couldn't sleep even if she wanted to! ha!. Whats funny is that she figured if Anyone would be up late at 5am in the morning, itd be me ^_^. C-chan, Ashita and i ate over at the Starbucks and the sun came up talking about...well..con politics and how they Suck! nya!

at sometime around 6am ashita and i decided it was time to get showered and ready for saturday. if we had simply gone to sleep we wouldn't have woken up until midday Saturday which would be really lame. While Ashita showed i had made a cusomized Sim to look exactly like our hotel room. all the way down to the fire alarms and wall pictures. I got my usual "Mappyman" garb on and Ashita got on his CatBoy costume, and back we headed.

by now, even More people were up. i found Loki and Bee! in the lobby which was really cool. Loki was costumed as Ito from Battle Angel (and Loki does a Really good Ito) and Bee! was a "fanboy" (with a paper fan atound his necklace! ^_^). it turned out they just slept in the car that night, and DC Boy was with them probably hanging out in the videogame room like he had been the previous days. after finding antonio we jogged back to the hotel to unpack the rest of their stuff.

jenny and Leo were now just getting up Bee! had brought JetSetRadio costumes Beat and Tab with him so we got in costume and went back to the con. dealers room was just opening so we stopped off there to scout things out. I saw Carolyn there which totally shocked her that i came, but she was happy as ever to see me again. i got to finally meet Jupe at this con too. we had talked some after...AWA5 wayyyy back but never got to meet. The only thing i ended up buying my first time through the dealers room was a cute cute DigiCharat clock. they were selling a good lot of GameboyAdvances and Playstation2 imports but unfortunely ParaPara was all sold out. This con i broke a few fun dealers room "traditions" i usually keep for myself. i always buy 1 plushie, 1 pin for my con badge, and a wallscroll. There weren't any SM or EverAnime CDs so that was definately out. wallscrolls were mainstream anime, and i didnt see any really cute plushies. well there WAS the huge huge tare panda plushie but itd be way too much to take home with me.
The hotel lobby was full of people now and i greeted a bunch of people i had been waiting to meet.

meatcon was edging closer and closer. but jenny and leo still needed badges to be in cosplay. so i quickly rushed to get them both badges and wait for them to arrive. dogbert told me everyone would be waiting outside. i asked mike to give the bades to the girls but oh MAN was he outta it. just kinda wobbling left to right i dont think he even heard me talk to him. but Jenny and Leo arrived and i quickly gave them bades and ran off to meet the others. there wasnt planned any restaurant this time. instead we would all be going to Tonys for some homemade meat. Hamburgers and Green Ketchup, yummers!

We started off by gettting DDR all setup, which needed a modded ps1 that we got after a few minutes. DDR3rd and Disney Rave got setup and everyone got a chance to play. Dan by far had the most fun with it doing spins all over the place and little routines. we stomped so hard sometimes that things jilted off shelves and stands. the whole house was stepping! after the ddr craze and green manburgers we busted otu random audio visuals. it started off with Hex! and other people doing kind of a Karaoke freestyle, and then we got the videos set up. First we watched Lionman, a REALLY bad kungfu flick. next was Freakazoid, which was great because there were a lot of us who knew the lines and kind of made our own as it went along. I sat with Jupe and Sailor Bacon. Jupe is super-cute! everytime some demented humor joke was on shed always blame Americans (being the hoser Canadian that she is ^_^) for being so messed up! Last we watched The State, and old old MTV sketch comedy with people from VivaVariety.

we finished up with a few group shots and pictures then all headed back to the con. Loki got lost on the way back so we were the last to arrive =P. it was about time for the tournament to begin! i went to my room and donn'd the PS2 raver outfit and got my glow stix. Dogbert already had his Rage costume from earlier. the tournament only had about 15 people in it. at first WEDOCA judged on a mix of score and style but the pads gave out so they just made it style (so long as you dont fail the song). it was pretty funny because the same time the DDR Game Room tourny was going on, Tony was running a Tekken Tournament and was soooo loud and drunk (he usually is) ^_^! everyone was signed up and ready now. The first few people to go up; Loki, Bee, Max, and Mike simply did a few tricks and maybe a spin or two. Mike Corbitt played BoomBoomDollar and near the end of the song began stripping down to his boxers! it was a riot! ^_^ then came Dan who did Double mode with spins and spins all over. It was my turn to go and i began my song Luv2Me by cracking the glowsticks and slowly bringing them down. everyone cheered. i also did a few knee-drops and spins not to mention backwards play for a bit of the song all while spinning the glowsticks in my hands. Cat went up next and did a really sexy spainish LaSenorita routine. she threw off the anime wig she was wearing mid song! it was cool! Carolina did a doulbe mode routine which looked pretty hot. then came this one guy (name escapes me) who did Dam Dariram. nobody knew him so we had no idea what to expect....he played the ENTIRE song backwards! we all clapped to see such an amazing show from him. winners of the tournament got videos and other gifts.
Note; after the tournament i saw how they "judged" peoples performance. By Mike's name there was the comment "Eww", and by the losers there was a simple "No". =D

and what better way to recover from a DanceDance Revolution3rdMix tourny then to go to....The Dance! we all headed off into the giant room filled with Bass blaring and lights going everywhere. but once again sadly disappointed. The dance sucked, again. Well it wasnt as bad as previous cons but my god what WAS that German polka music they played huh? SpeedRacer remix was the only catchy song and the rest was just really bad Bass. it was time to escape so Bee and i mingled away from the group to check on Dommi-chans party.

We were told several different rooms. 911, 502, and 840 so we checked the latest one to find nobody was up there yet. We looked around the lobby for someone who knew what was going on with the status of her party and sure enough- there she was! her party was still being set up and she said we could go up thee but HaHa, a group of friends all hauled her off and brought her up to the room, we followed of course. At the floor i noticed C-chan coming out of the stairs so she joined us at the party.

The room got PACKED. nearly everyone who knew Dommi or Jupe came, and even some strays looking for a gathering! they served drinks and played Initial D Eurobeat music. Bee!, C-chan and i got the corner near the AC so we were able to breathe partially. We all sang happy birthday and got out a cherry cake. The guy was a bit cautious on alcohol but thanks to Commander Havok (i owe ya a drink buddy!) i got my dose of rum Coke! yay! Scooter came in with a present which he built up being something really magnificent Dommi would really like; and it Was! an Autographed Spike Speigel (lithograph?) from Cowboy Bebop. Dommi was totally in awe of this and was so happy for it. About then Y2kJinnai called and asked for Me of all people, wanting to know how the con was going. i could barely hear him from over all the laughter and commotion but told him the con was going great so far. Then came da rent-a-cop. He didnt tear down the party but came up to investigate. i figured id just head out now since it would put everyone in jeopardy if i was caught drinking.

Bee! and i went back to the lobby to find all the regular con elites still wide awake talking abd doing stuff. I joined Stella and TrowaAl in some freestlye Para Para, which got quite a lot of attention. Someone brought out Pixy Stix for everyone that night too which was really fun! Dan even sniffed up some pixy sugar! it was hillarious. By around 5am everyone began to wind down. thats when we decided to get some sleep for tomorrows drive. Sunday was the usual bore. Woke up and went for a swim in the pool, then went to say goodbye to everyone. Picked up some last-minute stuff in the dealers room and talked to Tony of WEDOCA for a bit in the gameroom. nobody likes goodbyes so we usually end conversations with "What con you gonna be at Next?" and things end on a happier note.

Overall. well as a con; BLEGH! the price of admission $50?! highway robbery. The anime they played was so so and pretty disappointing without any subtitles for some of them. The video rooms were pretty small but its not like there was much to see anyway. Game room was hosted by WEDOCA; which would of course mean it rocked! DDR tournament was the best at a con ive ever seen and they actually gave out good prises! Dance sucked. good floor and lights but bad sound and lacking taste in music ruined it. Those Hentai Rent-A-Cops were no fun either. No bootlegs in the dealers room with their stupid asses waiting to bust someone.

Another con that was more fun when it Wasnt a con. MeatConII was the highlight for the weekend, as was other side events like Lobby Parties and Dommis Party. Meeting new friends and getting to hang out with others are what make a con for me. I think i've finally reached the point where i just wont buy a badge at all. theres only 1 place they check it and thats dealers room. so you pay $50 to buy $30 woth of goods? i havent gone to a panel since last year and ive seen all the anime they play so why waste cash buying a badge. ill just borrow a friends.

It was good to hang out with everyone! im glad i got to see all of you again and hope we can get together for another great gathering for parties like this one! Stay away from Con Politics kiddies! Laterz~
