| Ok ok, lets get this thing reviewed! Thursday night we all saddled up in Kate's minivan and headed towards Jax. We tried over and over to get ahold of Gomez but he never called back so Kate wanted to see if i could convince Ko to come instead. Even though he had just gone to japan AND Otakon, Ko was way cool in saying he'd come along as well. We also got two of Kate's friends Amber and Carlita. On the way near where we got gas, we saw what was supposed to be a WESTERN Mc Donalds, but we never found it. we did get a giant helping of P??? water. Around midnight we arrived at my house in jax where mom welcomed us all and thankfully had already made beds for all of us. The next morning we got to eat pizza and Cliff arrived with Josh around noon. Unfortunately Josh2 was unable to make it cause his dad wasnt being cool, sucks for kate. Right before we left i left my cell phone in the house so i had to find a way back in (i forgot my keys), so we had to go alll the way to my moms school and get hers. Cliff scratched the hell out of his car kit over the schools 2ft speed bumps there too! We were on our way and making good time. The trip to Orlando was nothing compared to the 6½ hour drive from ATL to JAX. The hotel wasnt so much a hotel but more of a condo resort so once we got there it was awkward trying to find the actual "con". the rooms only went as high as two floors so we followed signs to the lobby. James was the first person i saw, followed by TirkiMan and then Sam. Oh wait... we quickly caught Hex, Kneedrawp and some DSS kids on the way to the lobby. Sam was filming us being us in the lobby. We got a decent group pic before more people came along. Brandi showed up next and i briefly saw McKayla on her cell phone as well. Mattie from Jacon years back was there with her baby and though i told her Gene would be making it now that he lives back in Orlando, Gene never showed up.WackoTTL got me my PANELIST badge as soon as i saw him so i was all set for the con. Dealer's room was so so. Probably on par with OhayoCon 4 really. but the saddest thing was...NO BOOTLEGS. no SonMay, EverAnime, DVDs, etc etc... they were apparently making sure nobody sold them according to my Anime Pavillion friend Great. Great and i chatted a little bit. I hadnt talked to him in nearly a year and it wa good to see him still there. The two Heathers of the dealers room werent there this year either. The only really good thing in the dealers room would have to have been the model kits. They had a pretty good selection. But the soundtracks and retail prices made it just an average place for anime goods. Game room was fairly reclused in the dark back hall of the con. (Pic Descriptions) 76- traffic |
