| Comparing last year's Anime Express 3 to Anime Express 4 is easy. Anime
Express 3 sucked. Anime Express 4 rocked! Here's the story. Bee and I left Jacksonville around 8:30 A.M. We arrived around 10:00 A.M. We hit the con and began to wonder around. Dealer's room hadn't open yet so I went back to the car for my JSR Tab/Corn costume. Went in and Ran into some people I knew. Ran into Susan (Usagi), Joe (Mara), Terry ( Red Neck Ryoga )and Chris (Gecko). Joe and I decided to play some DDR, So we hit the parking lot again. Joe hooked me up with some parts for my new cosplay. Then went back inside with our DDR pads and played. I pretty much showed off admittedly. I was probably the best, at least that's what I had seen. Didn't really see any one who was up there. Played for a while more. Then Hit the Dealer's room. Got a whole bunch of cds! I'll list the Cds I got later. Some time after that Bee and I went out for Lunch. The roads were covered with old style cars with hydraulics. They're cool and all but they were driving really slow for my liking. We returned to enter the Name that Tune Contest. Chris entered the Novice Category. Won that easily knowing a lot on KiKi's Delivery service. Then I enterd the normal category. Came 2nd place but was handed the position of 1st place from Redneck Ryoga (Thanks Terry!). Because Ryoga gave me the 1st place position, I was able to go into the Otaku Category. Bee ended up winning. He got several prizes from those rounds. Three BGC Tapes, a Bag full of goodies (Plushies, toys , etc). After that all happened. It was time for me to join in with my group's cosplay. DiGi Charat! Yes, I did a full fledged crossplay. Some doubted me but I did it. I crossplayed as Puchiko. Mara almost had to drag me out. Mara as DiGiKo and Gecko as Rabi~en~rose. Gecko then eventually came out. By that time it was about 4:00 P.M. The set time for the Florida Cosplay Mailing List gathering. I have never had my picture taken so many times for cosplay til the gathering. It was soo cool! Total strangers asking for a picture. I lost count of how many pictures Mara, Gecko and I were in. As of this writing, I haven't seen any pictures and I'm quite anxious to see any! Some where along the line I got semi outta costume to play DDR. Played a song or two more.Went back into costume. From there here and there is a blur til around 8 for the cosplay contest sign ups w/ H-Chan. Our skit owned! Though we had to get approval for some things. Eventually after talking with a couple of other cosplayers, the cosplay event was about to begin. All the skits and cosplays were great! From Cactuar to Vash and Wolfwood. Dr. Tomoe and Sailor Saturn were great too! Then our cosplay came up. Here's the skit- Me (as Puchiko) walked in from the crowd into the center. "Hello, I will be signing, Only one- Number one." Then I begin to sign and Rabi comes out and pushes me aside. She goes on spieling about how she is better then every one. DiGiKo comes outta no where and they argue for a second DiGi pulls out a naughty Doujinshi / Hentai Doujinshi of Steve Bennett saying that we should print it. Digiko then shows the audience and then Steve and everything goes all out. It was hilarious. It was actually a cover of Steve and a crew doing Sailor Moon crossplay. The book was passed around the crowd. We got a great reaction for it. Before us though, I forgot to mention that Bee entered the cosplay also as Tab/Corn from Jet Grind Radio. He did a little skit where he falls flat on his face then does a proper ghetto accident of sort and leaves but to fall and do the splits. Then all the skits went by. More pictures of us were taken. Some where along there the Super Otaking round of Name that tune went on. Bee went on to play that round. He came as runner up to Redneck Ryoga who came up as the winner. Ryoga went on to give Bee the compilation cd. Soon after the Cosplay awards came up. We got the "kitty boys in drag" award. It's an award at least! After that, more pictures! After that and some other pictures and talking.I got outta costume and went back to normal and did some blading around. I got word from the crew of Movie of my Dreams productions (Thanks guys!) that the AMVs were about to start. I Quickly rushed in and watched. Bee's and my videos were entered. At the end Bee won with his video You spin me right round by Dead or Alive using various anime (Samurai Pizza Cats, DR.Slump, DB,-etc etc). By that time It was around 1 A.M. Before I said bye to my friends, I showed Steve Bennett my Cgs. He knows of my work! That's so cool, Freakn' made me happy! He gave me some info and told some stories. He's hilarious with his stories. Then afterwards, I said bye to Gecko, Mara and others. Though I couldn't find Susan..X.x Then Bee and I hit the road. Made in from Daytona back in little over an hour. Now traditionally we hit 100 mphs on the high way. But the rule in that is, only do it when there is no one around. We don't want to cause accidents. I got home around 3:30 A.M. I am still suffering from all the pain and lack of sleep. I got a good four hours of sleep. Had to be at work at 10:15 this morning. Anime Express was great. Hopefully in the future it won't slump. The staff did everything in their power to make it a greaat con, the people were friendly, and everything was fun! Along all that day there was more. Took Bunny and Darell out to the gas station. Hope my driving and music didn't scare them. Then there more trips to the dealer's room. Oh! And Thanks to the lady that was at the House of anime stand! She held my camera when I lost it! Thank you! And the cop who though gecko was the easter bunny. Insane! - Fin! P.S. Go Digi-Group!
